I first didn’t want to rate this because of what happens at the end. But now, a few days later, i can confidently give it a five-star rating.

Initially I thought this was a five-star book until the end. But after having finished it, I kept thinking about it and how it’s really what the whole book is trying to get across condensed in a final event? This is just my interpretation of course.
Community members trying to make the most of what they have, but not really knowing how. As a result of generations of systematic oppression, they turn on themselves (substance abuse on a smaller scale) and hurt their own community, instead of turning on the oppressor, creating a cycle of useless violence and grief.
