First reread, April 8th & 9th 2025: AAAAAAAA!!! I missed these two so much, they were my first introduction to Sarah M. Eden's books, so they'll always have a special place in my heart.
Almost five years later, their romance is still making me swoon, the humour is still making me laugh, and the stabbing pain at every misunderstanding is still just as real as it was then.
I cannot wait until we get the Seeking Persephone movie, it blows up and we eventually get this book adapted too. I think I'd die if I got to see them on the big screen, I LOVE THEM SO MUCH OKAY.
Also, this time I decided to do a reread by listening to the audio, and while the characters' voices were a bit different than what I imagined in my head, I really appreciate how the narrator made Catherine quiet, it felt so immersive. Crispin might've been straining to hear her, and so were we!! Hah.
You can tell how she gets louder throughout the story as she gains more confidence in herself, I love little details like that.
The Kiss of A Stranger is one of those billion star reads for me, then, now, always.
Original review:
What a fun book!
I couldn't put it down for a second, except when I really had to, so I don't drop my phone while laughing. There were so many moments like that. I even had to share the funniest bits with my partner who confirmed I wasn't alone in this. Now if I could get him to read the full book too...
I decided to read this as preparation for Sarah M. Eden's new novel, Forget Me Not and I'm so glad I did. It's addicting and I can tell I'm going to enjoy reading her other books.
I do wish the characters would just, you know, SPEAK TO EACH OTHER but then the book would be over in no time so maybe not.
