I understand this book is meant to be disturbing and the framing is meant to convey the lack of shame or remorse the main character has about her actions, but the way that it's written like smut as other users have mentioned is something I just can't get past. There is some commentary about youth, beauty, femininity, etc. but it is so heavy handed that it doesn't have much impact.
