The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave
5.0
Okay so I really enjoyed this read. *IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER* I would call it more of a mystery/family drama than a thriller. I don’t think it’s fast-paced enough to keep someone wanting a good thriller engaged. If you’re expecting to be on the edge of your seat through this story, you will be disappointed.
I enjoyed the flashbacks (and I rarely enjoy time-hopping in books). The book seemed to focus most on the developing relationship between Hannah and Bailey, and the end was so heart-warming. The relationships between the characters were enjoyable, and each character was fairly likable (mostly).
Were some plot points a little far-fetched? Sure, but I’m also the type of reader who just doesn’t think too much about it. I enjoy reading a story without trying to guess what will happen next, without expectations. I felt like this book was a sweet escape for me.
