When a healer joins a war, all should take notice.

Yes!

This book got me really thinking about taking sides in a conflict. It‰ЫЄs all too easy to pick a side, then drop critical thinking out the window to remain loyal to that side without continually considering the morality and ‰ЫПrightness‰Ыќ of both sides. That‰ЫЄs something that we have to continue to do. It really made me think about politics. It‰ЫЄs easy to get wrapped up into one side or another (whether Green Cloaks vs Conquerors or Democrats vs Republicans) and not even consider - is there any good on the other side? Do I continue to be on the right side of this war? Does it need to be a war in the first place?

I think this kind of thinking is useful in many areas of life. I‰ЫЄm glad that a middle grade book is pushing me to think some of these thoughts.

Plus, I‰ЫЄm continuing to enjoy the stories! I‰ЫЄm listening on audio and did the first 4 in a row. I may take a break, but I‰ЫЄll definitely pick with #5 soon. (My library just got Muse of Nightmares! So that‰ЫЄs next! Woohoo! I love YA authors!)
