I knew Asher Reyes would be a goofy cinnamon roll hero, but I was unprepared for his devotion to Wynter and Mason. As fun as Asher is, he knew when he needed to be serious. And Wynter and Mason gave him a reason to grow up.

I really liked the plot in this book. Wynter and Asher had one night in a bathroom where no names were exchanged and both left pretty embarrassed and unsatisfied, and that resulted in a surprise baby. I loved that as soon as Wynter realized their connection, despite her hesitancy of football players, she never kept Mason from Asher. And Asher never questioned Wynter and was fully invested as soon as he knew about Mason.

I loved that the more Asher showed up for Mason, the harder it was for Wynter to deny her feelings. No matter how hard she pushed Asher away, he never gave up on his chase. Asher wasn’t perfect, but he knew how to apologize and learn from his mistakes and he was loyal, which was definitely something Wynter needed in a partner. I loved the way they talked things through and were honest with each other.

This was a fun book with a lot of heart thrown in. I love the closeness of the guys and their acceptance of the women in their lives into their group. I can’t wait for the final book in this series, Lennox is the silent, broody mystery I know I will love.
