A hidden gem. An orphan girl with the power to bake feelings into her baking, set in a land ruled by an evil mage who has eliminated all trees so he can grow huge swaths of tulips. Add in a derring-do plot with a princess in distress (but not at all helpless), a brave young man, pirates...well, you get the picture. Non-stop action, wonderfully wrought characters, and a truly inventive plot. Bonus recipe for the famous Bout's Buns (I tried it, it's delicious). Eat this one up!
