Melowy Vol. 1: The Test of Magic by Cortney Faye Powell
4.0

Quick Summary: A light bright buddies romp

My Review: Melowy, Vol. 1: The Test of Magic was created by Danielle Star, written by Cortney Powell, and illustrated by Ryan Jampole. It is a comic/graphic novel series that features a very special group Melowy friends.

About the Book: Far away, beyond the stars, a magical realm exists. In this harmonious place, a school exists. Its purpose is to educate and train Melowies. Each Melowy has her own special look, her own special skills, and her own special test. Alas, something is afoot. Everything is not as harmonious as it should be. By the volumes end, readers get a glimpse of what's to come.

My Final Say: What a wonderful new world! This delightful adventure, so akin to My Little Ponies, is the beginning of a series set to teach young readers about individuality, identity, friendship, and love. I saw elements from many familiar fantasy fiction stories that I know and adore. Still, I found this book to be enchanting. I think it will appeal to many younglings.
