Batgirl, Vol. 2: Knightfall Descends by Vicente Cifuentes, Ardian Syaf, Gail Simone, Ed Benes, Alitha Martinez

4.0

Batgirl's body may be back up and running but she's still working on the mental part.

Barbara Gordon continues to struggle to regain her confidence and once again faces a part of her traumatic previous injuries. We also get to see what was going on in Batgirl's world on the Night of the Owls, which is fabulous and a great look at what was going on outside of Wayne Manor at that time. It makes that Court of Owls storyline pack that much more punch (and it was already not pulling any).

Our main baddie here is Knightfall who is fascinating and ruthless. So much so that she gets some other capes' attention. I want more of that team up!

We also have Barbara dealing with the return of her mother and some whispers about James, Jr. Batgirl has more than enough on her plate but as she says, she's driven and intense and she can take it.

Side note, I really loved the art in this one too. Very realistic when she's Barbara but just the right bit of normal and extraordinary when she's Batgirl. When she has her team up I think they even briefly borrow that hero's style and it's awesome.
