Beautifully written, and so detailed I felt as if I were in the story. I loved all the characters, even though they were mostly awful people. They were so distinct that everything they did made perfect sense, even as I was screaming at them not to. The historical setting was very well crafted and researched, and blended well with the fantasy elements. The story drew me in and never let go.
