Wild About You: A 60-Day Devotional for Couples by John Eldredge, Stasi Eldredge

2.0
I opened and read the 1st entry in the bookstore; I was SOLD. Both His and Hers entries were exactly what I was looking for and I was super excited to share with my S/O. He also loved Day (1) and seemed to really connect with the author/s.
We worked through it separately in the mornings, at the kitchen table, then talked or wrote each other a note with our thoughts. I LOVED that portion of this adventure.
Then day 2, 3, 4, 16…20… — I lost patience by Day 9 but I stuck it out to see if any other entry reached out to touch me the way Day 1 did. Sadly, this didn’t happen. It was the same ideas BINGO-binned back out with no narrative connection. Going on and on about “beauty” and “the desire for the male to be a warrior” was great the first 10 entries but eventually lost me.
I assumed a lot of these devotionals would be about nature or the “wild” (since that was what Day 1 was allllll about) but found very little of that. I get what they were trying to do but it just didn’t resonate with me or my S/O.
