Tastes Like Shakkar by Nisha Sharma
4.0

This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year. I absolutely adored the first in the series and I the 3rd book has been on my TBR since Dating Dr Dil came out. Nisha Sharma has done it again. I loved the background being the wedding of Kareena and Prem. I felt like this book really furthered the characters along and set up the nest novel nicely. And can we talk about the representation? Plus size love interests in romance are always fantastic to see (I knew it would be good when I read the dedication). I loved the chemistry between the characters, and the spice of course. I felt that there was a good balance between the main couple, finishing the story of the first couple, and introducing the 3rd couple. None felt like they were overpowering the other, which is a common thing I see in interconnected standalone novels like this one.

My only issue with the novel is the amount of exposition and allusion to the first book. For a novel that is allegedly an interconnected standalone, I felt that too much was repeated to the reader to make them see the connection (or maybe influence them to read) the first book in the series. There was a lot of repetition that felt unnecessary, and it didn't seem to end until at least halfway into the book.

All that being said, I cannot wait to see where all these characters end up in the third book. I love this series.
