I didn't actually finish this 800 page book. There were 100 pages left when I quit. I ran out of patience. The story was kind of interesting but after a time it became predictable, and the rape descriptions were unnecessarily crude. I give the author credit for researching cathedral construction, so 1 star, but I'm sorry I spent so much time reading this book.
