The book is pitched as a cross between PRIDE & PREJUDICE and FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS. I'm a sucker for modernized P&P adaptations and I love football (though it's a bit less exciting reading about a game than watching one), so I went into this book super excited, and while I did like it, I was never really as sucked in as I was hoping I'd be.
