This book was beautifully written. It follows the characters of Ruby and Ephram, their lives in the present time of the book and things that happened earlier in their lives to make them the people they now are. It was sometimes painful and hard to read as terrible, horrible things had been done to Ruby to turn her into a deranged woman. Ephram sees through her crazy, though, and risking the life he knows, does what he can to support her and help her get back to the woman he knows she can be. I would not be surprised at all if this book came away with all the awards it has been nominated for this year. It was phenomenal and well though out.
