Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts I and II
by Jack Thorne
I'm devastated.
This is not Harry Potter to me and this is most certainly not a sequel to my favorite book series.
I was so excited when I first held this book in my hands and can't even put into words how hard it disappointed me.
The characters are dull - they don't even halfway bear comparison with the Harry, Ron and Hermione I knew from books 1-7. And how dearly I loved them then! Albus is another big disappointment. He's a teenager going through puberty, hating his father and everything about himself. I get that puberty is a hard thing and so on and so on but I really couldn't handle Harry telling his own son he would rather have liked him not being his son sometimes.
I really sat there wanting to throw the whole thing out of the window to rid me of the pure ridiculousness.
The plot was enough to drive anyone to despair. It was so bewilderingly far-fetched I wanted to scream halfway through.
I do not recommend this book to anyone who loved Harry Potter as it was in the first place! It's badly written and you simply want to cry reading this - excuse me - bullshit.
Big disappointment after all.
