I Am Still Alive by Kate Alice Marshall

2.0

Okay so, I deeply hated this book. It could have been maybe 100-150 pages long, not 300. I don’t need 3 pages describing how exactly she had to flip herself around to get to her stuff. But.... the last 70 pages or so were very gripping. When it got to her almost starving and then having to dig the hole to get to her dad it just started to get real. It wasn’t exactly good, the entire book was written very juvenile and I had trouble connecting to the main character so I didn’t care if she made it or not (I know that sounds awful) but when Bo died I felt more emotion than if she died. It felt like it was written like an “I survived” book written for elementary schoolers. The only reason it wasn’t a 1 star is because the last 70 pages were good.
