Torn
by Amanda Hocking
Sooo I’m going to be completely honest here and say that I DNF this book from my reading list.
I liked the first book, it had its flaws, but hey I though I should give the book a chance.
But.....then I started reading Torn.
The writing wasn’t great on either books, but I quickly looked passed that to really focus on character development and plot. Neither for the second book (for me) were good.
Don’t get me wrong, some characters where great, but I saw a wasted opportunity with some of the characters. Finn from the gentleman turned into a jerk, Rhinnanon makes no appearance whatsoever (such wasted talent).
And let’s not forget the plot. This is the reason I DNF the book in the first place, it’s because there was a great start at the beginning and then the author just filled in part of the book with magic training and flirting and thoughts . And how long was this part you may ask? It was 3 chapters long!
I probably ain’t giving this book a try, and maybe things get better. But I couldn’t grab interest at this point and wanted maybe love tension at the beginning of the book, not Wendy remembering about her past lovers. If he’s gone just get over him!
