selinamarcille 's review for:
Twenty Boy Summer
by Sarah Ockler
I enjoyed reading this book. I think this was able to capture so many different emotions so well. I also think that the characterization was good and the writing was very beautiful. I was able to picture the scenes very clearly, all the while feeling the same thoughts and emotions that the characters were experiencing.
This story is primarily about moving on after loss. I think this is conveyed well, but I found some of the constant reminders a bit grating and repetitive at times. I also thought the characterization of Frankie seemed wobbly, but that may have been the point.
I would have liked more closure at the end, as a reader, but I know that the ending was fitting to how things happen in real life.
