How to Do Nothing: Resisting the Attention Economy by Jenny Odell
4.0
"Our fates are linked to each other, to the places where we are, and everyone and everything that lives in them. How much more real my responsibility feels when I think about it this way!
HOW TO DO NOTHING: Resisting the Attention Economy was nothing like I anticipated. I expected a how-to guide with a simple "technology bad!" message. What I received instead was a manifesto on the dangers of the attention economy and how it intersects with colonialism and capitalism. It was intellectual and insightful, despite some pretty intense ramblings.
This book is definitely not a quick read. It demands to be digested and read slowly, so only pick it up if you are ready for that journey. HOW TO DO NOTHING is a must-read if you want to feel more connected to your community of all creatures.
