Sam Masur and Sadie Green, once great friends, meet again in their junior year of college. Both are obsessed with video games and are at Ivy League schools to pursue a possible career in the field. When Sam suggests they make a video game together, life will never again be the same. Spanning thirty years, Tomorrow x3 examines love, connection, disability, identity and our place in our tumultuous world.

I really wasn’t sure what to expect from this. Extremely hyped books in our bookstagram community are either a hit or miss for me. I’m so happy Tomorrow x3 was a hit. I did enjoy Zevin’s title The Storied Life of AJ Firky but it didn’t click that it was the same author until I opened the pages. In the same vein, Tomorrow x3 delves into emotion and feelings and our connection with ourselves, others and our world.

As someone who doesn’t game because I lose interest in them quickly, due to the frustration, I did find a new appreciation for them. Like books they’re a form of escape and so much work goes into creating them.

Oh, the atmosphere of this book! I couldn’t get enough of the seasons ebbing and flowing and the descriptions. I know this wasn’t the focal point of the book at all but it really propelled me through it.

Lastly, I loved Sam, Sadie and Marx. All three of them were wonderful characters. They felt so real to me, as if they’d walk in through my door.

Thank you @flaviathebibliophile for gifting this to me, I loved it so much, 5✨!
