Octavia Butler creates a vivid dystopian world, which felt like a zombie apocalypse, without the zombies. Olamina is an interesting and complex character. I found the book beginning in 2024 both interesting and eerie, Butler’s dystopian world feels eerily similar to current reality. Butler creates real human & relatable characters.
