philyra91 's review for:
The Iron Knight
by Julie Kagawa
It was obvious, from the ending of The Iron Queen, that The Iron Knight had to be written. This novel follows Ash and his journey to be with Meghan once more and I have to say, while I appreciated the insight we gained into Ash's life before meeting Meghan, The Iron Knight wasn't as powerful as The Iron Queen had been for me.
Ash's narrative is still very guarded, rather unlike Meghan's and it took a while getting used to it. But like what I said before, I love finding out about Ash's past, and how he really was a Winter prince through and through; cold, heartless, unmoving, etc. I also like the brief flashes we got of the "future" during the trials, especially of. That was such a treat!
There were of course, several plot twists that I didn't see coming but that is the mark of a skillful writer. It seems Kagawa had everything planned out, which was brilliant, of course!
A definite read for all Iron Fey fans!
