It is surprising that I rated this book three stars when I did not understand or relate to any of the characters very well. But I read it on a day when I had no responsibilities, no children to take care of and this freedom when mixed with the novel's plot was enough to make a lovely, brief escape.
However, don't let my three stars fool you. The book tries to take on too much and buckles under it all. Too many characters, too many deep issues that were handled shallowly, too many books briefly discussed. That being said, you won't get bored with all the story-lines going on.
