3.75
This is the first time I’m giving a book 3.75 stars, but it was the only rating that felt appropriate. I was excited to learn more about the girls and the body snatching that was going on, but then at the last part after the broadcast, it’s like I hit a wall and wasn’t interested anymore. I’m not sure what happened but I won’t be reading the sequel. I thought the story was unique and creative, and definitely has a lot of potential. I didn’t fully understand the whole actor/director dynamic and who has final say over everything. For example, I know everything is supposed to be “entertainment above all” and people can’t mess with production, but how was a woman allowed to kill seven? (or nine?) men without her and her director being arrested? I didn’t understand that, and that was a big plot hole. I also didn’t fully understand all of the roles in Snowglobe, particularly concerning those who were not just actors, but those who had other jobs as well. It just didn’t make sense to me, and I was constantly rewinding the audiobook for clarification, so I did not connect with it that much.
