When i saw this was a memoir decorated with poetry i was honestly being a bit of a misogynistic bitch when i assumed it wouldn't be good.
this exceeded all of my expectations. Pamela is so thoughtful, intelligent, reflective, altruistic, experimental, curious about the world and desperate to find answers. The opening to this novel is one of the most beautiful beginnings to a story. I often had to stop listening (audiobook) to take a moment or have a cry, as it helped me reflect on my own life and my own trauma.
