Broken Souls and Bones by LJ Andrews
5.0

We follow Lyra, a Melder with a rare form of magic that has been lost for years, after her village was attacked and she was hidden away, with no memory of what happened. Living rurally to protect herself from being used by the King of the land for her rare powers, she lives a simple life. That is, until she is discovered by the prince's Guard, Roark, and whisked away to be used by the King. But not all is as it seems, and she quickly learns that she might be useful there, even though her powers are a slow death sentence.

LJ Andrews does it again, with a vivid world, a compelling backstory, and lovable characters. Lyra is strong and vibrant, and Roark is sweet, snarky, and possessive all in one. I loved the magic system as it centered on bones and bone manipulation in a really unique way.
