A fast-paced light hearted read following four sisters during four different seasons. Each season the POV switches to a different sister and her love interest. Whenever I felt connected to the relationship they were forming it switched to the next, making me wish they had longer sections. This book is marketed as being comparable to All the Boys I Loved Before, but the style and story and tone are vastly different I would never recommend this to someone looking for similar books to ATBILB.
I don't know how else to say this but for me the book didn't read "young adult" so much as more of an "adult romance". There wasn't adult content or anything, but the writing style and the prose made it feel like a more mature read. At times it felt like a ya read with the characters and their personalities, and other times the way they would narrate and look at the world felt like the setting was more suited to an adult read. (In fact I almost wish they had aged up the sisters and done just that)
I have a really big book ick, whenever there is a character already in relationship, and then they emotionally cheat or have a flirtationship even though they are in a relationship already really bothers me. (Especially when their boyfriend isn't even an asshole!) My least favorite story was Nidhi, I really had trouble connecting to her character in regards to how she dealt with love. I will say the way she jumped one from relationship to another was very "ya."
There are so many queer,lgbt, and lesbian tags on this book and I loved how their Dad had his own queer romance weaved throughout the season. But in regards to Sirisha's story, it felt incredibly short compared to the other sisters, and then her love interest is just never mentioned again even though the other sisters boyfriends are.
I look at a book like The Davenports, and that is a read that does multiple POVs of sisters well, I recommend that one if you are interested in the genre.
All in all I fairly enjoyed the book, and if the blurb interests you I say read it.
However, I am still on the fence if I would read the sequel or not.
