I loved, loved this book, but you have to understand the Duchess first. She is a fictional creation of an anonymous person on Twitter. But her Grace, Duchess Goldblatt, spreads love and laughter all over the universe. This clever person has befriended thousands (47.7 K) on Twitter just by being herself. Her Twitter friends like Lyle Lovett, Benjamin Dreyer and Elizabeth McCracken apparently encouraged her (remember she is anonymous) to write a book and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt published this summer. The Duchess is the perfect friend for these long days alone and her memoir is no different. This book is partly the story of a woman experiencing a huge loss and a joyful account of the Duchess's origins. I recommend the book and following @duchessgoldbat
