The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine

3.0

Book club read: The Last Mrs. Parrish is a predictable, psychological thriller. 3⭐️’s for the plot being interesting enough to keep me turning the pages, but... before that, this book was almost filed as a DNF…because it starts out real slow & corny.

3 characters: Daphne, Jackson & Amber. Way too much time was spent on Amber…EW. She drones on & on about the lifestyles of the rich. The cliches were ridiculous: “green with envy”, “Bunny”, etc…FYI to the Constantine sisters (co-authors): we don't need it spelled out every time somebody is being devious...line after line…we get it! Amber is crazy. Would’ve been nice to figure it out on my own.

The twist with Jackson & “Part 2” of the book, while twisty, was no surprise. I wish we had learned more about Jackson & what made him the way he was. Think Fifty Shades of Grey but substitute Christian with Jackson the psychopath. I found so much of the book hard to believe.

Once again…psychological thrillers aren’t my thing. This one left me feeling icky & with a desire to buy the cheesy socks that say: “I Hate People”. It’s a quick read & pretty evil…but like a good National Enquirer, you can’t resist turning the pages.
