The Dark Tower
by Stephen King
Awestruck by just how impressively this one shits the bed.
The “book” in an eye-watering, microscopic font (keeping the unforgivable page count down?), which adds to the wall-to-wall sense of garbled plot contrivances, undercooked narrative swerves and complete abandonment of the characters we mostly embraced in the first five-and-a-half or so books.
About six weeks ago, I decided I was finally going to get around to reading the entire Dark Tower cycle; having finally abandoned this one about 200 pages in, I guess that’s one 2023 resolution we won’t be scratching off the list.*

* I read the wiki spoiler entry and am eternally grateful to me for sparing myself.
Execrable garbage.
2023: if it’s shit, just quit.
