This was a mixed feeling. I was happy to have other points of views other than Langoureth which was nice as it built a more diverse story. The world was compelling as it widened in this sequel and I enjoyed the additional pieces of this Arthurian retelling. I did not like it as much as the first, however. The lack of romance was actually enjoyable because I didn't understand in the first book how she and Maelgwyn had fallen in love so quickly. I was also happy to see portrayal of a form of love built through necessity and patience.
