This is a simple, short how-to book on writing fiction. Simple, short: those are virtues in this case.
I had noticed some complaints in my rejections: "...but why is your character doing that?" I had the goal and the conflict figured out; what I was missing was motivation.
I got this book recommendation at a writer's conference, and it proved to be a timely tip. Increasingly, I find how-to books on writing redundant with the many I've read before. This one filled one of the remaining gaps in my craft, and didn't waste my time doing it. Kudos.
