I put off reading this for so long because I have not had good luck with the early 2000’s chick lit, but I’m glad I finally got to it! The story is about four BFFs that will be spending their first summer apart since they were born. Lena and her sister Effie are meeting their grandparents in Greece for the first time. Carmen is going to visit her dad, and when she gets there she learns that he is engaged and Carmen now has 2 step-siblings. Bridget is going to soccer camp in California, and Tibby is staying behind to work at a store.

Also there is a pair of magical pants that fits them all perfectly despite their different body types soo they decide to each spend some time with the pants over summer break.

I didn’t exactly love all the characters, and I hated Bridget the most, but their storylines where really good, although at time a bit dramatic. What I do love is that the romance isn’t the number one plot line, and also not every girl is experiencing romance this summer. Carmen is focused on her family issues, and Tibby makes a new friend who has cancer and that was super cute to read about.

It’s not the best book ever, but it got me out of a major reading slump and I believe it’s a great book for some light summer reading. I definitely plan on continuing with the series!
