Day After Night by Anita Diamant

4.0

This was a very good book. I enjoyed the characters and even the flashbacks to WW2. It could have been much longer. Once you have characters and stories like these, why stop after less than 300 pages? That's not to say it was too short—I think Diamant did exactly what she aimed to, show a brief period of time and one story in the not-too-well-know history of immigration to the Jewish state.

One really interesting thing is how the story of illegal immigrant camps reflects on politics today.
