Rogue & Gambit: Ring of Fire
by Kelly Thompson
I'm a 90s kid who lived and breathed X-Men so this book was obviously on my radar. I had high expectations because of the cast and creators. Happily, the book lived up to them. Rogue and Gambit's relationship has obviously been insanely ridiculous over the years but Kelly Thompson does an amazing job of making sense of the past while not being mired in it. The plot had some far too coincidental moves but the antagonist was interesting and the plight of the main characters was really good. Pere Perez's art was phenomenal. Overall, exactly what I was hoping for. So much fun.
