Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

Did not finish book. Stopped at 0%.
I didn’t go into this with high expectations, not because it’s not good, but because I’m not the target audience as I usually prefer fantasy with romance, to romantasy if you know what I mean. I also don’t typically enjoy spice and cursing for religious and personal reasons. I figured it deserved a shot because of the hype and because I don’t want to speak on things I don’t know anything about. The story itself was promising, if it weren’t for the cringey romance (I love a good love story, but this was just too much for me) and the language, I probably would have continued through and gone more into the series. If you’re looking for alternatives with no spice and less cursing, here are some alternatives…
Dragons Kiss by EA Winters
-Semra was kidnapped and raised to be an assassin until she realizes her mentor is evil and she bonds with a dragon.
Fireborne by Rosaria Munda
-pretty much the exact same book with stronger characters, relationships, and better political intrigue
A Crash of Sea and Storm by Taylor Vander Leest
-Disneys tangled in the How to Train Your Dragon world, if Flynn was a girl trying to escape her arraigned marriage by killing Rapunzel, who is a boy who was raised by dragons and they try to kill eachother a lot.
