This is book two in the author’s Silvercrest U series and features Jax—one of the psychopathic twins from book one, Wicked Games—Killian’s story.

I know it’s been a while since I read Wicked Games but I don’t remember it being as dark as this one though I guess with a main character who’s a diagnosed psychopath, there’s not much of a chance for it to be anything else. I don’t really read a whole lot of dark romances as I naturally gravitate to the lighter reads but still, once I started reading it, I was hooked and couldn’t put it down though I admit to paying really close attention to the content warnings.

Readers should be aware that it contains CNC, bondage (but not the rest of the alphabet soup), domination, choking, and the use of fear and intimidation tactics during intimate moments as well as a few other possible triggers but that’s just off the top of my head. We did get our HEA though so I enjoyed it and can recommend it to other readers; right now I’m looking forward to reading Jace, the other twin’s, book. 4.25 stars!

I received a copy of this book for free but am voluntarily leaving a review.
