The Butterfly Garden
by Dot Hutchison
3.5 stars rounded up. I was extremely intrigued with this book from the beginning and throughout everything was very captivated by how this is written however it felt a little bit choppy at the end with the escape. I felt like there could’ve been way more detail on that rather than the details that were given about them being inside and all of these different goals, which really did contribute to the story, but their names were fairly irrelevant so I feel like they could’ve cut out a lot of the details about other girls and just focus more on the story. I also understand the ending was trying to give them a bit of a twist by knowing that the garden was there, but I felt that it really took away from the entirety of the story by trying to connect random self feedback into the entire thing.
