I could not put this book down! Here's what you read AND learn about: what it's like to die of thirst, all about sperm whales, the Quakers, living on Nantucket Island in 1820, black relations in the American northeast, jigs and sails, Galapagos tortoises (apparently tasty), cannibalism, and obesity in Samoans. And that's just the start. The real story of Moby Dick. Brilliant.
