Fool Me Once by Hannah Gray
5.0
The second I read the prologue, I knew this book was going to be 5 stars. It definitely lived up to it. I am obsessed with Hannah’s writing, and then you add in hot hockey guys?! Sign me up! I love how Hannah writes an amazing hockey love story, but also includes real life issues that people deal with. It reminds me that even though we all love a fairytale love story, sometimes you go through different things to come out on the other side. In this story, Gemma was a victim of domestic violence, and it took her a while to leave. Thankfully, she made it to safety. She found a safe space with Smith and they rekindled their relationship. Their story was beautiful, as he allowed her time to heal on her own time. As a victim myself, of domestic violence, this story was beautiful and I love how Gemma is now working to help others in the same situation that she was in.
TW: domestic violence
Moderate: Domestic abuse
