Blink
by K.L. Slater
I’m just glad it’s over. This book was almost fantastic. It could’ve been. The author rushed this ending similarly to The Silent Ones. I guess it’s her style. The plot was good—but the ending happens so quickly that the reasoning for everything doesn’t get the full attention it deserves. The characters need more development. There are things that need more explanation. I suppose the author thinks the ending is shockingly satisfactory it isn’t. The final words were fine. But there were plot holes that weren’t mentioned AT ALL. I loved Sarah Pinborough's Behind Her Eyes and Colleen Hoover’s Verity. That’s how these types of endings need to be written! Everything well explained with a ”gotcha” ending that is surprising but fulfilling—appropriately frustrating. These Slater books just aren’t.
