This was the cutest graphic novel 😭♥️ I love Nova and Tam so much!! They’re so cute together, and I love how we get snippets of their childhoods. There is so much representation all within such a short amount of time but done so well! Tam’s a werewolf and has followed by a demon in the forest for a while and unable to rest due to not wanting anyone else in danger and being unable to use their magic. Nova is a young witch who lives with her 2 grandmas and helps with their bookstore.

It was so difficult to put down. It was so sweet to see how quickly Tam (now uses they/them pronouns) was welcomed back into their lives for who they are no questions asked. There are also a few parts of the story where Nova discusses her hearing aids and being nonverbal as a child has affected her in a world where disabilities are not taken seriously. Also her hearing aids match Tam’s hair!!!! So cute. 🥹

A running bit throughout the story is about Nova’s best friend being a skeptic of magic, yet still helping their family with whatever they need and discussing how she wishes they would just use science to explain everything 😂 I love a supportive bestie.

Are you interested in graphic novels? Consider picking this one up! It would be a great choice for the #TransRightsReadathon too! 🫶🏻
