Go Tell It on the Mountain
by James Baldwin
Beautifully complex and ambiguous. This book had me contending with all facets of religion, the power, anger, joy, and the seemingly endless sorrow of the thing. It did nothing to assert a particular stance but instead just left me feeling inexplicably moved. I would go so far as to say this is one of my favourite books (or at least in the last year!)
