American Vampire, Vol. 3 by Scott Snyder

5.0

Two story arcs in the prize of one!

The pairing of Scott Snyder with Rafael Albuquerque and Sean Murphy probably one of my favorite creative teams in current comicbooks. The simple and the feeling of "what comes next?" in Snyder's storytelling makes this book one of the best in current Vertigo lineup. I really like how the uniqueness he puts in the story. The only problem I had was the setting of Taipan and the Tagalog speaking child, I don't think Taipan is in the Philippines, unless I was mistaken.

I really like Rafael's artwork in this series, he is a great artist to be paired up with Snyder. His rendition of how the vampires full on transformation is really good, I hope he stays in the series in the end.

I was glad Sean Murphy was the artist for the Survival of the Fittest storyline. He got this eye in detail when it comes to expressions and actions. If they have to replace Rafael I'd prefer Sean over any artists.

With the usual velvety covers (I like touching them, adds to the exp), great storytelling and really good sequential art. I highly recommend.
