Triton Vârisi

Ahh! It just keeps getting better and better! Only bad thing I have to say (well, two, but I can't mention the one because spoilers) is that it was so short! Less then 250 pages! Grrrrrr. I wish there was a little more meat to the story. Especially because of all the major things that happened not only in this one but also in book 1. Not to mention book 3. While the events in this book were rather huge, I felt as though it was a little rushed. Maybe if the first and third were around the same page length I would feel differently.
By the end of the first book we know that Emma's mother is Nalia. I have to say (before I accidentally saw it at the end of the book) that I was surprised. I mean, I had an inkling but I wasn't sure of it until certain things started falling into place. There is one aspect of this new found tidbit that I hate, but again, I can't mention it because I don't want to spoil the relationship that develops between Emma and her mother despite all of this.
Going into book 3 I'm worried about the direction the book is going in. According to the book jacket, another young man comes into the picture and I hope to the book gods that it doesn't ruin Galen and Emma. I will be royally pissed if this man does anything to hurt that. Also, what's with the picture on the cover!? If Emma dies...
I'm wishing the author wrote more to the series. I have yet to see what other books she has written but I would love to have more fairy-tale like stories come from her. I find that Banks is an excellent writer; she really pulls me into the story and she makes it really easy to imagine people with tails.
If this is a series on your to-read list, good! If it's not, fix it and add it to your list now!
