The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy

This book was so sad and so full of grief, but it’s filled with a tender and quiet kind of pain. It doesn’t shove pain in your face to suffer through in alarming waves - it only introduces it to you gently, almost methodically, and leaves you to feel what you can.

(It hurts. A lot.)
