Interesting book that actually feels relevant to current events, though my brain can't quite figure out exactly how. It is like a look into the headlines and water cooler conversations the denizens of Detroit were having during the depression. There was the rise of a bigoted terrorist organization and the rise of sports teams prowess, almost like these were two ways people will dealing with the bad economic times, one way focusing on turning to hate and blame and the other pride and enthusiasm. I really, really liked this book and I am not a sports fan. The author skillfully told a story that was easy to get immersed into.
