I liked it until I didn’t. I thought the game show was an interesting twist, I understand there are other more straightforward ways to learn about your heritage but that wasn’t the plot of the book. I loved that Meg Ryan was the narrator but I disliked the main character she felt more like she was 22 not in her mid 30s. There were parts of the novel I would have liked to have gone deeper or shown but instead ‘it happen *insert adjective*.’ Also there were these little random run offs of facts or side topics that did nothing for the story. I so badly wanted to like the book, it just dragged on and the characters just got more annoying.
