This was my second book from Stephen that I’ve read, and I definitely enjoyed this one more! It was a bit difficult to read just from the writing style/how the characters spoke from the 1870-1912 era, but I could still understand. It definitely got easier the deeper into the book I got as well. I went in pretty blind to the plot so I was surprised by the different POVs of the book and basically the whole latter half of the book (in a good way!). I would definitely recommend this book if you like a slower pace and more mystery with gore.
The ending definitely made me feel good as a hater of colonialism and the church 🫶🏼
